Visa Information - Kenya Embassy, Cairo
Find here all the information you need to know about a Visa appliation when travelling to Kenya. Ensure you read through carefully and have all the requirements met before forwarding your Visa application.

List of Countries whose Nationals do not require Visas to enter Kenya

VISA INFORMATION

A visa is required for entry by all visitors travelling to Kenya with the exception of those who fall under the following categories:

  • Holders of re-entry passes to Kenya;
  • Citizens of those countries with which Kenya has a reciprocal visa Abolition Agreement;

PLEASE note that pocession of a Kenyan Visa does not quarantee entry into Kenya.The Immigration officer at the port of entry may deny entry if the visitor is unable to fulfill the immigration requirements and if the entry or presence of such a person would be contrary to national interest,even if such a person already possesses valid entry Visa.

  • Visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.
  • Length of stay in Kenya is 3 months from the date of entry.
  • Authority to stay is the entry stamp issued by the immigration officer at the port of entry.

VISA REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid travel document
  • Visa application form duly completed and signed by the applicant.
  • Copy of flight itinerary/letter from travel agent on company letter head confirming booking for (tourism)
  • Letter from employer and invitation letter from the host or company to be visited (visit/business visas)
  • One Passport size photo

PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE VISA FORM IS CORRECTLY FILLED, PHOTOGRAPHS ENCLOSED AND THE CORRECT FEE ENCLOSED BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION TO ENSURE PROMPT PROCESSING OF YOUR APPLICATION.

Note:

  1. Single entry allows holder to enter into Kenya only once.
  2. Transit allows only a short stopover upto 24 hrs in Kenya
  3. Multiple entry allows multiple times entry into Kenya
  4. No visa is required for those who are transiting with not intention of leaving the airport
  5. A single entry visa allows one to re-enter kenya from any point of the follwoing East African countries(Uganda,Tanzania,Burundi,Rwanda)

REFERRED VISAS

Nationals of the following countries shall have their visa applications reffered to the director of immigration services,Nairobi for approval:

  • Afghanistan
  • Armenia
  • Azerbaijan
  • Georgia
  • Iraq
  • Jordan
  • Lebanon
  • Mali
  • Nigeria (residing outside Nigeria)
  • North Korea
  • Senegal
  • Somalia
  • Syria.
  • Palestine
  • Tajikistan

NOTE:
Reffered Visa administrative fee of L.E 30 must be paid on submission of a complete application form with supportive documents

  • All the above visa requirements apply.
  • Invitation letter from the host or organization to be visited in Kenya.
  • An additional non-refundable referral fee of U.S. $10.00.

STANDARD VISA FEES

Visa fees will be paid CASH in local currency (Egyptian Pounds) as follows.

TYPES OF VISA:

Ordinary/Single Entry Visa:

Required by all persons entering Kenya for visits or tourism

Transit Visa:

Required by all persons transiting through Kenya for periods not exceeding seven days

N/B:
People who are transiting through Kenya and who DO NOT intend to leave the airport during the period of transit DO NOT require any Visa

Diplomatic/Courtesy Visa:

Issued gratis to holders of diplomatic,official or service passports on official visits.

N/B:
Diplomats and government officials who are nationals of countries that require reffered visas shall have their visa applications reffered to the Principal Immigration Officer,Nairobi for approval.

Multiple Journey Visa:

All persons who are nationals of countries which require visas for Kenya and who by which nature of their business or circumstances require to make frequent visits to Kenya may be issued with multiple journey visas for SIX (6)months or TWELVE (12) as the case may be.Multiple journey visas are reffered to the Principal Immigration Officer for processing and approval

VISA FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

VISA FORMALITIES

The information provided here is vital to every Visa applicant. Please note that the information may be changed at anytime at the embassy's discretion.

The visa fee is payable in cash. Visas are valid for three months from the date of issue. Direct visa applications will be processed as below:

  • Single:
    On application and not exceeding 48 hours.
  • Group:
    On application but not exceeding 4 days.

Opening Hours for visa:
9.00 am to 3.00 pm
(0900 H to 1500 H)

MAIL APPLICATIONS

Same documents as in paragraph 1. The visa fee is payable by money order. Please note that cheques are not accepted. Applicants should enclose a self-addressed envelope, stamped with pre-paid adequate postage for registered mail.

Visa applications will be processed within 5 days.
